Welcome to the BCHS Writing Cluster blog, the nexus of the BCHS writing program. In the menu bar above, you’ll find links to pages of information in this blog. In the right-hand column are links to department wikis, online whiteboards for teacher collaboration. Below, are two important links and some procedural information.
Kentucky Writing Scoring Rubric To use the KWSR, check the boxes in each category, content, structure and conventions, that apply to the piece. Then determine the most common number in each category - that is the score for the category, not the aggregate sum. Total the three scores to determine the score of the piece, e.g. 2 for content, 2 for structure, and 3 for conventions equals 7 for the piece, or A on the Gringotts standard.
When submitting pieces to Gringotts, attach a completed data tag to each and arrange them in two stacks, one of those pieces that meet the minimum AHA standard for the bank or higher, and the other of those that are of lesser development. Clip the AHA stack with a gold paper clip (provided by Gringotts), and the other with a plain aluminum one. Place both stacks in a folder with the AHA stack on top and turn in to a member of the library staff.
Data Tags for Writing Pieces Attach one data tag to each piece submitted. Click here to print tags. When the page loads, click on “file” on the menu bar, choose “print,” then cut, complete, attach and submit. (You can also just hit the “printer” icon on the IE menu bar.) Thanks!
